How it all started

As the oldest German manufacturer of coupling heads and safety components for trailers and caravans, the Winterhoff brand looks back on over 70 years of company history. In addition to continuity and sustainability, openness, reliability as well as dynamics and innovative spirit are the driving forces behind Winterhoff’s success. This was not least underlined by Winterhoff in 2001 with the acquisition of ALBE BERNDES, the second oldest German manufacturer of coupling heads.

Winterhoff joins DexKo Global Inc.

Winterhoff had already been working in partnership with AL-KO as a reliable supplier of jockey wheels. As a result of the positive collaboration, AL-KO Vehicle Technology decided to take over the company in 2016. Since then Winterhoff has been part of DexKo Global Inc., the world's largest manufacturer of trailer axles and chassis components in the lightweight sector.

Following the integration, Winterhoff’s product range in the Accessories area has been gradually extended. Jockey wheels, steady legs and extendable corner steadies, hitches for braked and unbraked trailers, stabiliser couplings, accessories for jockey wheels, supports and hitches as well as anti-theft devices and tailgate latches are currently part of the range.

Three years after the acquisition by AL-KO Vehicle Technology, the Winterhoff brand continues to stand for the highest level of quality, which is repeatedly recognised by external awards, as well as modern product developments. Armed with decades of experience, dedicated employees, modern production and logistics as well as an integrated quality management system, Winterhoff continues to guarantee a high standard, which its customers have come to rely on. In light of the positive developments, AL-KO intends to retain the Winterhoff brand and its products.
